Bavaria is the largest federal state of Germany. The Bavarian Alps define the border with Austria. Much of southern Bavaria has more in common culturally with neighboring Austria and Switzerland. We toured the Linderhof Palace in southwest Bavaria, visited the village of Oberammergau, Bavaria, where the renowned Passion Play takes place every ten years. We also toured a ski resort village nearby Oberammergau. We toured the stunning Pilgrimage Church of Wies, at the foothills of the Alps. And, while on the road, passed the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. The scenery was magnificent.
