Heidelberg Germany was our very first stop on tour, after leaving Frankfurt. Heidelberg is a quaint city, with a village atmosphere, located in south-west Germany. A city rich in middle ages history, which traces its beginnings to the fifth century, and sits in the Rhine Rift Valley, on the lower bank of the River Neckar with one of the warmest regions of Germany, with a flourishing climate that grows almonds, figs, and olive trees. The day we toured Heidelberg, we had picture perfect weather. We dined at a quaint outdoor restaurant sitting under very large, old trees, surrounded by vines with other green vegetation, while enjoying bright blue skies with pleasantly warm sunshine.
